This magnificent osprey is no stranger to the people of Bonaire. You will not find them year round on the island; they migrate back and forth. But when they are here, they are plentiful and you will often see them hunt or fly by with a fish dangling from their claws. This particular one was a little too ambitious and caught a fish too large for take-off. The bird was lucky to make it to the shore, because they can get their claws stuck in their prey and drown. But once there, there was nowhere for this beauty to go, making it a very easy subject for a whole series of photographs.
